Description

Crispy cauliflower pizza crust delivers a low-carb delight that pizza enthusiasts crave. Packed with flavor and nutrition, this gluten-free alternative promises a delicious meal you’ll savor with every cheesy, golden bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, riced (about 4 cups/500 grams)
  • 1 large egg

Cheese:

  • 1 cup (240 milliliters/8 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (60 milliliters/1 ounce) grated Parmesan cheese

Seasonings:

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pulse fresh cauliflower florets in a food processor until they resemble fine, sandy granules, creating a rice-like texture.
  2. Transfer cauliflower crumbs to a microwave-safe dish and heat for 4-5 minutes until tender and steaming.
  3. Allow cauliflower to cool completely, then wrap in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze firmly to remove all excess moisture.
  4. Combine the dried cauliflower with eggs, grated cheeses, and seasonings in a mixing bowl, blending until a cohesive mixture forms.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the cauliflower mixture evenly, pressing and shaping into a circular crust approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Place the crust in a preheated 425°F (220°C) oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until edges turn golden and crisp.
  7. Remove crust from oven, add desired pizza toppings, and return to oven for an additional 8-10 minutes until cheese melts and toppings are heated through.
  8. Let pizza rest for 2-3 minutes, slice, and serve immediately while warm and crisp.

Notes

  • Keep cauliflower as dry as possible by thoroughly squeezing out moisture to prevent a soggy crust.
  • Use fresh cauliflower for best texture and flavor, avoiding frozen varieties which retain more water.
  • Add extra herbs like basil or thyme for enhanced taste profile and aromatic experience.
  • Consider using almond flour or nutritional yeast for added protein and nutrition in the crust.
